The History of Busyfingers Woodworking
"About Us"

Busy Fingers Woodworking, located in Potsdam, New York; is a family oriented crafting  business, that originated in
the early 1980's. The business began with a few women going to the local farmers markets to sell their crocheted and
knitted items.  Each week they would load up their items into a Ford Pinto and head to town. Some of the farmers
markets in which they went to were Potsdam, Massena and Canton. These woman spent many hours crocheting and
knitting for the sales.

A couple years after Busy Fingers Woodworking began, they decided to expand, offing more to the local people.  They
bought a larger vehicle with a trailer to transport all of their crafts.  They began to not only sell at the farmers markets,
but also at craft shows throughout New York.

Once the expansion began, the woman continued to crochet and two men, a father and son, in the family began
woodworking.  The women were busy making sweaters, hats, mittens, scarfs, slippers and jackets while the father and
son made children's rocking chairs, horses, tables and chairs, trucks, doll strollers, cradles, shelves, napkin holders,
mug trees and much more.  All together, they had many wonderful products to offer.

Busy Fingers Woodworking lasted for ten years, and then the family decided to end the adventure. They had to put in
extra hours to complete orders that had been taken.  Throughout the ten years, they had participated in shows located
in Plattsburgh, Cape Vincent (the French Festival), Alex Bay, Ogdensburg, Norwood, Massena, Lousiville, Brasher
School, Potsdam, Canton (Holly Berry Festival), Watertown, Glens Falls, Cranberry Lake, Tupper Lake, Saranac Lake,
Waddington andWelsley Island.

In 2005, some family members decided that Busy Fingers Woodworking would begin a new adventure.  An original
crafter wanted to  re-enter this adventure. It is currently a father /daughter ran business and now offers a variety of
items.  The majority of items are rustic/adirondack and some offer the primitive/country look. Some of the items from
the original Busy Fingers continue and new items have been added.

This family oriented business allow our family to spend more time together and provides other families with much
happiness from the products they purchase from us.

We look forward to hearing from you.  Have a great day!
